Orange Cream Gelatin Dessert is an easy dessert that you can make from a few items in the pantry and freezer at any time of the year. It works well for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mother's Day, bridal or baby showers, etc. It is sweet and rich, yet somehow also seems light and refreshing. It is a rather nostalgic dessert as it reminds me a little of an orange push-up ice cream treat from my childhood. Plus, it is a molded gelatin dessert, which always reminds me of the past. As with other gelatin and fruit dishes, someone might call this a "Jello salad" in the United States. However, this recipe uses an entire quart of orange sherbert in addition to gelatin, so I can not bring myself … Continue Reading about Orange Cream Gelatin Dessert

Lookout Mountain Pizza Company
Friday nights are often pizza nights at my house. The end of the week often lends itself to having an easy take-out or eat-in pizza. However, I am also spoiled and very picky about what I think is a review-worthy pizza restaurant. Luckily, I have found one in Northwest Georgia that is very good, the Lookout Mountain Pizza Company.
The Lookout Mountain Pizza Company also seem like they are very picky about the pizzas they make. They only serve Neapolitan-style pizzas from their wood-fired oven with a crust that takes more than 30 hours to make. The result is an excellent tasting, tender, and slightly chewy crust. The crust combined with other quality ingredients makes a really great pizza.
We have tried three different pizzas from their menu: Margherita, Isabella, and Maria.
The Margherita has the standard toppings of a tomato sauce, cheeses, basil, and olive oil. The Isabella is the same as the Margherita minus the basil and olive oil.
The Maria includes more toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, and roasted onions.
There are several other tasty-sounding pizzas on the menu including two without tomato sauce, a meatball pizza, and a Nutella dessert pizza…yum! Or, you can just build-your-own to suit your tastes.
However, you won’t have to decide what size of pizza to order. They only come in one size. Each pizza has six slices.
Before you pack everyone into the car to go to Lookout Mountain Pizza, you should know that they are only open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Plus, they are only open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. or until the dough (pizza dough that is) is gone. Yes, they do run out before closing sometimes. Their popularity means the seating gets filled easily. We usually get our pizza to go.
They are located conveniently close to Cloudland Canyon State Park on Scenic Highway in Dade County atop Lookout Mountain. It is a short, scenic drive up Route 136 from Trenton, GA or along Scenic Highway(Route 189) from the Ruby Falls/Rock City area of Lookout Mountain just south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
So, before you make that drive, you might want to check their website, Facebook page, or just give them a call, (423) 432-5215.
If you are on the lookout for really great pizza, I think you will find it at Lookout Mountain Pizza Company.
Enjoy!
