Orange Cream Gelatin Dessert is an easy dessert that you can make from a few items in the pantry and freezer at any time of the year. Simple Cucumbers and Onions
This super simple mixture of cucumbers and onions is a refreshing and delicious dish.

My mother and grandmothers would often serve it from as soon as the cucumbers ripened in the summer through the early fall. Today, I often make it using the “hot house” or “hydroponic” cucumbers available in supermarket all year round. In the summer, it is great to just keep a container in the refrigerator to have as a snack or a side with a meal.
My husband said he always had it made with white vinegar. However, my mom usually used cider vinegar. I use the cider vinegar because it is less acidic (and I have a reaction to acidic foods) and I like the flavor. One of these days, I will make some with white vinegar for him and rice vinegar (even less acidic) for me. 🙂
Frankly, it was hard to get a picture for this post…someone kept eating it before I could get it, so I had to take one as soon as I put all the ingredients together.
