Orange Cream Gelatin Dessert is an easy dessert that you can make from a few items in the pantry and freezer at any time of the year. It works well for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mother's Day, bridal or baby showers, etc. It is sweet and rich, yet somehow also seems light and refreshing. It is a rather nostalgic dessert as it reminds me a little of an orange push-up ice cream treat from my childhood. Plus, it is a molded gelatin dessert, which always reminds me of the past. As with other gelatin and fruit dishes, someone might call this a "Jello salad" in the United States. However, this recipe uses an entire quart of orange sherbert in addition to gelatin, so I can not bring myself … Continue Reading about Orange Cream Gelatin Dessert

The Feed Co. Table and Tavern
There is something about a re-purposed space for a restaurant that I love. It is even better when that restaurant offers really good food and friendly service. This is just what The Feed Company Table and Tavern offers.
While The Feed Co. Table and Tavern on Main Street in Chattanooga has remodeled the space, the history of the structure is still there. (I even recognized element from when I frequented the Hot Chocolatier that occupied part of the space prior to their moving to their Market Street location).
The food was fresh and tasty. We bought an appetizer (a rarity for us) mainly because we could not resist finding out how the fried pickled green beans tasted. They were yummy!
My daughter and I opted for the salmon with crab salad over creamed corn and green beans. We both thought the entire dish was delicious. The salmon was grilled perfectly for my taste. My daughter’s favorite part of the dish was the corn; she loves creamed corn.
My husband ordered one of his favorite fish dishes, fried catfish. It came topped with smoked tomato relish over mashed potatoes and green beans. He said it was light and not greasy. He really enjoyed it.

I can not speak to the Tavern side of The Feed Co. Table and Tavern as we did not partake. There is indeed a separate “tavern” that adjoins the “table” side. I know that they do have specials and live music on a regular basis.
We had a very enjoyable dining experience at The Feed Co. Table and Tavern and look forward to going back. Next time, I want to try one of their many great sounding sandwiches…the 20 hour brisket french dip to be specific.
If your in the area, it is worth a visit. Happy dining!
